First mural day

So we are FINALLY going to start putting the Mario into the Super Mario nursery. And I am thrilled with how it started out. So, after all the waiting, what is the first thing we put on the wall???

A Yoshi berry bush, of course.

Christmas Gifts

Here we are, post Christmas, and Garrett and I are going to start really working on the "creative" side of the nursery. 3 months until due date!

We got these candy filled Mario Mushrooms at a party store. We aren't sure what we are going to use them for yet. But they are cute!
 

I have the greatest sister-in-law. She made these pillows for our baby's Christmas present. They are so perfect for the room!
 

Luigi has to get his representation too!

Painting Day

Today we start painting the nursery. I'm so excited to start this project. Maybe it is early nesting? Maybe it is just a way to bond with my baby boy, despite all the puking and nausea I still have.

Here is one last view of the before. You can see the hints of that horrible mauve that used to be all over. Now only a memory to be hidden behind the baseboard.
 

We posted some inspiration up, just to set the mood. Super Mario World was where we took most of our inspiration. Though we aren't going to be purists. We have taken some different ideas from different games.
 

We are going lighter in color, so we have to prime first.
 

Finally, we are ready for the paint color. I put his first initial on the wall to claim the room as his. I hope he will love it!
 

It's really coming along now! I love the color. We were going for a Nintendo game sky blue.
 

Not bad for a day's work. The room is painted. Now for the real creativity (and a nap).
 

Guest Room turned Nursery

 


There it is. The room that has served as our guest room for 2 years is now going to be turned into a nursery. We are starting to paint this weekend. I'm SOO excited!

What's the Green Pipe?

Ever since Garrett and I found out that we were going to be having a baby, we starting thinking about ideas for a nursery. We decided that if we had a boy, we were going to do a Nintendo or Super Mario themed nursery. Well, we are having a boy, so we have decided to go with Mario. We can't wait to get started on it and share it with you. We have so many ideas, that it is unlikely we'll be able to do it all before our baby boy arrives.
